The Joint Center for Energy Storage Research (JCESR): The Center for Catalysis and Surface Science (CCSS) is an ISEN portfolio research center that partners with JCESR at Argonne National Laboratory to develop clean energy storage technologies.The Argonne-Northwestern Solar Energy Research (ANSER) Center: ANSER is an ISEN portfolio center that works to develop the fundamental understanding of molecules, materials and method necessary to create dramatically more efficient technologies for solar fuels and energy production. As of August 2018, the ANSER Center transitioned to become the Center for Light Energy Activated Redox Processes (LEAP).The Center for Light Energy Activated Redox Processes (LEAP): LEAP is an ISEN portfolio center that works to develop the fundamental scientific understanding needed to use efficient, light-driven, multi-electron redox processes to power energy-demanding chemical reactions. As of August 2018, the Argonne-Northwestern Solar Energy Research (ANSER) Center transitioned to become LEAP.ISEN is directly involved in several aspects of the university's robust partnership with Argonne. Together they facilitate innovative directions in faculty research and new educational opportunities for Northwestern students in a variety of departments, research centers, and programs.
